Intravenous BCG Induction of Innate Memory in Young Pigs

چکیده

Abstract Exposure to vaccine strain of Mycobacterium bovis(M. bovis), Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG), alters innate immune cells through epigenetic and metabolic modifications resulting in heightened responses subsequent microbial insult (innate memory). As a biomedical model for human disease, pigs provide critical space study the role memory disease resistance. Young were inoculated intravenous (IV) or intraperitoneal (IP) with either live heat-inactivated BCG (IV-live, IP-live, IV-inactive, noBCG groups). At 2wks post inoculation, monocyte production IL-1β nor TNF cytokines following ex vivostimulation LPS was not different any group compared noBCG, i.e. no memory. dose lower than anticipated, at 3wks primary all second time respective preparations routes BCG. Ex vivocytokine stimulated monocytes measured again 5wks inoculation (2wks post-secondary inoculation) both elevated IV-live memory), but IP-live IV-inactive groups. Additionally, PBMC homologous recall antigen (purified proteins from M. bovis) resulted 3-fold higher IFNγ response IV-inactive. Together these data suggest that while can induce state young pigs, induction training cannot be inferred by T cell protein antigen. continue highlight as valuable multiple factors (i.e. route, dose, viability) may need considered USDA-ARS CRIS project 5030-32000-225-000D

Role of MicroRNAs in BCG Therapy by the Induction of Neutrophil Extracellular Traps in Bladder Cancer

The treatment of bladder cancer is usually performed by Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG) instillation. BCG therapy is a common therapeutic method with fewer side effects compared with chemotherapy, radiotherapy, etc. BCG can also inhibit the progression and recurrence of bladder cancer by inducing apoptosis pathways, arrest cell cycle, autophagy, and neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) formatio...

BCG modulates neonatal innate immune cytokine production.

Infection causes 0.6 million of the total 2.9 million neonatal deaths every year and devastates the lives of millions more who initially survive; it mercilessly seeks out those weakened by premature delivery and/or low birth weight (LBW), an unfortunate combination too frequently encountered all over the world but particularly so in low-income countries [1]. Reduction of neonatal mortality over...

Induction of Regulatory T Cells by Intravenous Immunoglobulin: A Bridge between Adaptive and Innate Immunity

Intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) is a polyclonal immunoglobulin G preparation with potent immunomodulatory properties. The mode of action of IVIg has been investigated in multiple disease states, with various mechanisms described to account for its benefits. Recent data indicate that IVIg increases both the number and the suppressive capacity of regulatory T cells, a subpopulation of T cells t...
